Antique Sink Is it possible to add plumbing to an antique pump?
Sounds a little weird, I know, but I have a really old house & I'm a little obsessed with keeping it historical. I have a great dry sink with an old pump & wondering if I can run plastic tubes through it so I could get hot water & use it for our kitchen sink.. Not sure how I could get on/off valve in there, though... Ideas?
Photo of similar pump:
You're racking my brain on a Monday! The hot water would have to be separate, anything you connect would just feed the well, the apparatus in the pump would crush any tube. Some things are not meant to be. You would have to drill and tap the pump spout and add a check valve and regulator, ruining any historical value.

Art Vessel Sink "The Tempest" Shakespeare Monologue Translation?
Shakespeare Audition Tomorrow... I'm unfamiliar with "The Tempest" !
I'm reading the script right now, and looking into movie versions. Yeah, I'm going to be up all night.
Here's the monologue that I am using for the audition, could you explain to me what she means ?
EXTRA : Any synopsis on the story would be great too ! Thanks !
MIRANDA.
If by your art, my dearest father, you have
Put the wild waters in this roar, allay them.
The sky, it seems, would pour down stinking pitch,
But that the sea, mounting to the welkin's cheek,
Dashes the fire out. O, I have suffered
With those that I saw suffer: a brave vessel,
Who had, no doubt, some noble creature in her,
Dash'd all to pieces. O, the cry did knock
Against my very heart. Poor souls, they perish'd.
Had I been any god of power, I would
Have sunk the sea within the earth or ere
It should the good ship so have swallow'd and
The fraughting souls within her.

Hello Broadway;
Mike1942 gave a wonderful answer! (I gave him a thumbs up).
Now for my minor contribution -- in the Extras department.
Miranda is a real to life "Daddy's girl" -- she has lived with her father all her life. Dad takes care of everything, and as far as that goes he is a magician so yeah he can stop a storm if he wants to.
Prospero is a doting father -- he even has (magical) servants to help out with raising of his daughter. We find out later that he did in fact create the storm to get the people to his Island.
Now for the strange stuff -- This theme is used in modern literature more often than you might think.
The movie "Forbidden Planet" (1956) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049223/ is science fiction adaptation of "The Tempest".
AND
In Star Trek (The Original Series) the episode "Requiem For Methuselah". is a version of "The Tempest".
AND
The book "Brave New World" by A. Huxley is a direct reference to a line in the play.
"The Tempest" was Shakespeare's last play -- and much has been made of Prospero giving up his magic at the same time Shakespeare is stopping his writing.
One last thing is that this is one the Bard's best works on parenting ... we see Prospero using some reverse psychology when it comes to his daughter.
One of my favourite sentiments relates to Prospero's story about how he got so consumed in his studies that he abdicated his responsibilities. "My library was dukedom large enough."
Why You Might Want To Put A Vessel Sink In Your Bathroom
In recent years, a growing number of home owners have been buying and placing vessel sinks in their bathrooms. If you are not very familiar as to what vessel sinks are, they are a kind of sink which sits on top your bathroom sink counter, with the sink bowl exposed. Contrast this to the conventional drop in sink, which drops into the counter and hangs with a lip, leaving the surface level. So, why would anyone want to get a sink which sits on their counter? Here are a few advantages that vessel sinks have.
Vessel sinks are much easier to install. Think about what you must do to set in the conventional top mount sink. You have to take out your existing sink, go and get a new sink which will fit inside the counter, and if you cannot you'll need to get a new counter. Then you need to slide in the new sink, typically with the help of another person, and apply your caulking. Since drains are quite standard in size, a vessel sink counter come with a small hole just large enough to fit a drain pipe. All that is needed is to place the sink bowl on top, align the holes, and connect the piping underneath.
Another benefit of vessel sinks is that they are so easy to keep tidy. Traditional sinks, like pedestal sinks and top mounted sinks, need lots of time to clean because you have to reach around in difficult to get places and crevices. Grime and dirt can also build up around the caulking. Because vessel sinks are very easy to work around, they take far less to clean up. You'll probably spend more time cleaning up the counter than the actual sink bowl. Since there is typically less caulking used with vessel sinks, there is less grime and dirt accumulation. Vessel sinks are normally obtainable in darker color schemes, for that reason stains can be less apparent.
Perhaps the biggest reason why an increasing number of people are installing vessel sinks is their trendy appeal. They truly can be works of art. They come in all kinds of shapes, such as a rectangle, bowl, and the downright weird. You can get them in all sorts of materials, from basic porcelain, to elegant bronze, to splendid marble. Moreover the colors are endless. You could choose between the whole range of colors, white, black, you name it. Or perhaps you want a sparkling clear vessel sink? If that is the case you could install a vessel sink produced out of glass or crystal.
