Vessel Sink Faucet
Need to find an adapter for a foreign faucet?
We purchased a faucet on Ebay that is considered European. It comes with its own custom water lines (the braided hoses) which are m/f with a 5/8 connector. Most water lines are f/f so this is already a problem. on top of that, our water spouts are 3/8. We cannot find an adapter that would fit a 5/8 out and a 3/8 threaded in for Iron. We also cant change the water lines as they are custom fit for this faucet. We are having this issue with quite a few faucets we have looked at for our vessel sink. We went to Lowes and took out out of the box even, and it too is different. I thought 3/8 was standard so Im confused as to why even US made would vary. We really like the faucet and are trying to find a way to fix this issue. I am not a plumber so I apologize for the jargon. I have contacted the manufacturer and all they can do is issue me a partial refund which doesnt even cover the cost of a new one nor solves the problem.
It's probably the threading that is the problem. I know this is not what you want to hear, but re sell it, and get an "american" model?

Selecting Vessel Sinks
At one time you could ne nearly sure that upon making you entrance into any bathroom you will be met by a plain cast iron or
white porcelain sink. However, those days are long in the past. These days, you have the choice, of shape, texture, color,
and materials.
Vessel sinks are considered the most elegant style of bathroom sink that are available these days. However, vessel sinks are
just a new take on an old world invention, which is the wash basin. The wash basin was not an unusual item in the houses as
late as 19th century. They were usually a common porcelain bowl placed on top of a table or counter and are filled with soapy
water.
First, you have to consider the plumbing, but especially the faucet. The vessel sinks faucet basically come in two styles,
deck and wall mounted. These deck mounted faucets that are required for vessel sinks are very tall and usually feature some
type of goose neck design that permits the faucet to reach above the edge of the vessel sinks which provide sufficient room
for you to wash your hands.
Vessel sinks come in numerous materials, colors, sizes, and shapes. The most popular materials are wood, ceramic, copper,
stone, and glass. All of these materials have their own unique disadvantages and advantages.
Glass is certainly the most popular material used for vessel sinks. Glass vessel sinks can be located at all major hardware
stores and on the Internet. Glass vessel sinks are available in numerous color combinations and they are easy to maintain and
clean. Ensure that if you do choose glass vessel sinks, that it is made of tempered glass since non tempered glass could
damage to your countertop or you if it ever shattered.
Copper is tied with stone is as the second most popular material for vessel sinks. These materials include travertine,
marble, granite, soapstone, and onyx. The stone vessel sinks are unique since each sink is hand carved from a single piece of
natural stone and therefore there will never be two identical stone sinks.
Another material that is used for vessel sinks is porcelain or ceramic. These materials that are used in the constructing of
vessel sinks are simply an extension of the in counter plain white bathroom sink, that provide nothing unique. But, there are
still many people who don't want to stray from the original design of a white ceramic sink.
Wood is the most natural looking of all sink construction materials. Bathtubs and vessel sinks van be made of birch, phoebe,
mahogany, and natural teak. The wood that is used for making vessel sinks is kiln dried prior to production to make sure that
there is little or no water content. Also, vessel sinks that are made out of wood specially treated with a natural varnish
sealer.
